Muireann Bradley - Artist of the Month

Our artist of the month in March is different for a few reasons!

Firstly, whilst most of our artists are unsigned, Muireann is lucky enough to be signed to the Decca Label (Universal) and has a lot of support from them.

Secondly, Muireann - who is just 18 - is an Irish musician from County Donegal who plays and sings country blues and ragtime guitar from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s in the fingerpicking style of the original artists.

She began learning guitar at the age of nine and aged 17, she appeared on the BBC's Jools' Annual Hootenanny show and was given a standing ovation for her performance of Rev Gary Davis's 1961 song 'Candyman'. Following this television appearance, her debut album I Kept These Old Blues entered the top ten of the UK Albums Download Chart. She signed to Decca Records in December 2024.

We were introduced to her whilst visiting Universal Music but, as soon as we heard her sound, we knew she was perfect for our slightly eclectic afternoon playlist!

So, an unusual choice of artist for Caffè Nero but, as soon as you have heard her music, we think you will understand why we have chosen her to play in all our stores across the UK every afternoon at 15.30 for 15 minutes.
